Product Review: Bite Beauty’s Agave Lip Mask

Click for Bite's Sephora page This product saved my life, or at the very least my lips.

I have a very bad habit of picking my lips until they bleed, if I can. So, I’ve tried practically every lip moisturizing product on the market, and this is the only ONLY one that made a difference to me. It is really one of the products I need to buy two of at a time to avoid ever running out.

So, in this lip product, you will find one of the main ingredients is trans-resveritrol which is a powerful anti-oxidant. I take resveritrol in pill-form as well, it can help with cell-regeneration, by limiting oxidation and helps the little cells function. It also helps with heart health. However, as the beautypedia states

Resveratrol is a good antioxidant, when applied topically or when consumed; just don’t get caught up in thinking it will work wonders for your lips. Clearly, they’re capitalizing on a buzz ingredient here—and skin care, especially for the lips, is never as simple as any one ingredient, however good it may be.

It also features medical grade lanolin, which is a wax that is created by the sebaceous glands of wool-bearing sheep. The wax helps them keep their wool from getting too soggy in the rain. It is usually harvested by ringing it out of the harvested wool — no harm is done to the sheep. It also includes organic castor seed oil, olive oil, organic beeswax, and organic carnauba wax.

All of these waxes and oils are non irritants and help moisturize the skin.Click to read about the champagne version

The other featured ingredient, organic agave oil, is tasty and smells great, but it won’t really do much as far as skin care. The oil is by no means a bad ingredient, it isn’t an irritant, and I’d much rather have some agave oil than synthetic perfume which does irritate the skin. It just won’t do you any long term good.

Bite has recently come out with a colored version of this godly gloss so it can be worn during the day to add a bit of color to the lips, on top of the moisturizing. I haven’t tried it yet, but I am dying to.

Overall, I love this product. It really is amazing, it is the only thing that has worked for me, and I’m looking to buy another with the champagne color. Bite beauty prides itself in using only food-grade ingredients and does not test on animals. As far as I am aware, they are also manufactured in Toronto, where the company’s headquarters is also located.
